Native speaker, Zaira Kime, to start instructing classes in Murfreesboro
Zaira and her bilingual daughter Maria
Note from Zaira
I am originally from Spain and have been living in the United States since 2001. I now live in Murfreesboro with my husband and two daughters who I absolutely adore. One of my proudest moments was being sworn in as a United States Citizen the summer of 2004. Now we are all dual Spanish/American citizens and couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love sharing my Spanish heritage with my American friends and family and am so happy that my girls get to experience all the wonderful things that both countries have to offer.
I went to college in Madrid and graduated with a major in English. Ever since graduation I knew that teaching was what I wanted to do and I thought that I would teach English to Spanish Students. However, God had other plans for me and coming to the United States with my American husband made me realize that it was time to share my language and my culture so that I could enrich children’s lives. I have seen first hand in our family how exposure to new languages at an early age is one of the best gifts you could ever give your child. My four year old is bilingual and switches back and forth between Spanish (when talking with me) and English (when talking with Daddy) with such ease. Watching her language development has proven to me the importance of learning languages at a young age. Not only it is great for her development and language skills, but it makes her so proud to know that she is able to interact with my family and friends in Spain as well as with her American family and friends. She loves it and it won’t be long until Sofia does the same.
Now that my children are not so little anymore I have been looking for an opportunity to go back to doing what I love most while I can still be a full time Mom. Bravo Ninos is the perfect place to do so. I am thrilled at this new adventure of bringing all the magic of the Spanish language to Murfreesboro’s Preschoolers.
